Visiting scholar, Dr. Azuma, Eiichiro（東榮一郎）, has registered at Center for Chinese Studies on July 10, 2018. He is a Japanese scholar who is an Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, US.
Dr. Azuma's research period in Taiwan is from July to November, 2018, at the Department of History, National Taiwan University. His research topic is “An Unknown History of a Tropical Colonial Nexus in the Imperial Pacific: The Rise of Commodity Crop Production in Japanese-Ruled Taiwan and the Influences of Hawaii's Settler Colonialist Agriculture”.
