On October 21st, 2020, the visiting scholars went on a cultural trip to Keelung Heping Island and Gold Museum. Around 50 foreign scholars, along with their families, from 26 different countries were led by Dr. Klement Ruey-Sheng GU (Director of Department of Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affair) and Ms. Ying-Mei Wu (Deputy Director-General, National Central Library).

Scholars not only visited several must-visit attractions, including Spanish cemetery site on Heping island, Heping Island Park, National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, and Gold Museum, but also did some handmade activities, such as sea glass DIY and gold panning.
