2020 Presentations of MOFA Taiwan Fellowship Scholars—The New Global Situation within the Context of US-China Tensions


Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Central Library, and National Chengchi University co-host the 2020 Presentations of MOFA Taiwan Fellowship Scholars on October 29th. Taiwan Fellowship scholars are giving presentations regarding the new global situation within the context of US-China tensions. The topics are “Media Warfare: Taiwan’s Battle for the Cognitive Domain”, “US-China Geopolitical Rivalry: What Role for the European Union?”, “Winning hearts and minds in Southeast Asia? News sentiment on China amidst the US-PRC Trade War”, and “Has China Peaked?: A New Understanding of US-China Relations”.

Prof. Yeh-Chung Lu (Professor, Department of Diplomacy, NCCU) and Dr. Klement Gu (Direct General of Department of Policy Planning, MOFA) are invited as chairperson. The forum is attended by above 80 scholars and students, including four speakers: Kerry K. Gershaneck (Professor, Royal Thai Naval Academy), Zsuzsa Anna Ferenczy (Researcher, Vrije Universiteit Brussel), Alicor Panao (Associate Professor, University of the Philippines Diliman), and William A. Callahan (Professor, The London School of Economics and Political Science), and four discussants from NCCU Department of Diplomacy: Yeh-Chung Lu (Professor), Ping-Kuei Chen (Associate Professor), Chia-Yi Lee (Associate Professor), and Chong-Han Wu (Associate Professor).
