MOFA Taiwan Fellowship Presentation III- Xi Jinping’s Foreign and Taiwan Policy after the 20th National Congress of the CCP


The MOFA Taiwan Fellowship third Presentation was held on Tuesday, 13 December 2022. The topic was Xi Jinping’s Foreign and Taiwan Policy after the 20th National Congress of the CCP.

Mr. Chung-kwang TIEN, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs attended and also delivered the opening remarks; Dr. Grace Change, the Director General of Department of Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Taiwan (R.O.C.) also attended.

The presentation was moderated by Dr. Klement GU, Director-General,, Department of Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Taiwan (R.O.C.) and presented by Ms. Inès Hsiao-Man Cavalli, PhD Candidate, Societies, Times & Territories (STT) Doctoral School of Rennes, France with the topic: The Implications of the 20th CCP National Congress in the Strait: A Taiwanese Perspective; Dr. Ho, Tze Ern Benjamin, Assistant Prof., S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore with the topic: Chinese Contestation of International Order in the Aftermath of the 20th Party Congress; and Dr. Viktor Friedmann, Associate Fellow, Institute of Chinese Studies, Delhi, India with the topic: Associate Prof., Budapest Metropolitan University, Hungary.

The discussants are: Dr. Cheng- Kun MA, Professor, Graduate Institute of China Military Affairs Studies, Fu Hsing Kang College, National Defense University; Dr. Yu-jen Kuo, Professor, Institute of China and Asia-Pacific Studies, National Sun Yat-sen University & Executive Director of the Institute for National Policy Research; and Dr. Tung-chieh TSAI, Professor, Graduate Institute of International Politics (GIOIP)& Director of the Advanced Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences(ARCHS), National Chung-Hsin University; and Dr. Ming-shih SHEN, Research Fellow Director, Institute for National Defense and Security Research.

The number of the attendee is about 50. All the scholars and participants had learned a lot from the event, also known the different viewpoint of international relations of the cross-strait area.
