Visiting scholar Prof. Alison Groppe has registered at Center for Chinese Studies on January 14, 2016. Prof. Groppe is an American scholar who is currently an associate professor at University of Oregon, US. Her research period is from January to April, 2016. Her research topic is "Worldly and Other-worldly Encounters: Critiques of Colonialism, Imperialism & Globalization in Li Yongping's The End of the River". Her host institutes in Taiwan are Department of Chinese Literature, National Taiwan University; Graduate Institute of Foreign Literatures & Linguistics, National Chiao Tung University, and Research Center for the Humanities and Social Sciences, National Chung-Hsing University.
