Visiting scholar, Dr. Meryl Joy Burgess（梅麗爾）, has registered at Center for Chinese Studies on January 10, 2020. She is a South African scholar who is a post-doctoral researcher at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
Dr. Burgess's research period in Taiwan is from January to December, 2020, at the Center for Foreign Policy Studies, National Chengchi University. Her research topic is “A Study of Taiwan’s Public Diplomacy: Critically Assessing the Role of NGOs in the New Southbound Policy”.
